Writing and managing sleep plans

Sleep-plan authoring lets a coach prepare structured guidance for one family, keep it private as a draft, publish it to the family and preserve older plans in history.

Who this guide is for

This guide is for subscribed coaches with current access to an assigned family.

What you can do

  • Write a title and ordered sections.
  • Add paragraphs, bullet points and images.
  • Attach a PDF.
  • Save work privately as a draft.
  • Publish the plan to the family.
  • Archive a completed plan and begin a new version.
  • Copy an archived plan back into the current draft.

Open the sleep-plan editor

  1. Open the family in the coach portal.
  2. Go to Session prep.
  3. Open the sleep-plan editor.

If the family has no plan yet, the editor creates a starter draft with sections for goals, bedtime routine, night wakes and naps.

Write and arrange the plan

  1. Edit the plan title.
  2. Edit the existing sections or choose Add section.
  3. Enter one paragraph or bullet per line.
  4. Start a line with a hyphen and a space to make it a bullet.
  5. Drag sections into order, or use the keyboard arrow controls on a focused handle.

Every plan must keep at least one section. Images are kept after the written blocks in their section rather than placed between individual paragraphs.

Add images or a PDF

Add image accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF files up to 10 MB. Add a helpful caption and alternative text where appropriate.

The PDF attachment accepts PDF files up to 20 MB. A plan can have structured content, a PDF, or both.

After an upload succeeds, use Save draft or Publish to keep the attachment with the plan. Leaving with an unsaved upload can leave it unattached.

Private image and PDF access can expire while the editor is open. Preview or download the file again to refresh access.

Save a draft

Use Save draft to store work without showing it to the family.

Saving a plan that is already published as a draft withdraws it from the family's Sleep plans list. Publish it again when it is ready to share.

Unsaved edits to a published plan do not change what the family sees. The family continues to see the last successfully published version.

Publish a plan

  1. Review the title, sections, images and attachment.
  2. Choose Publish.
  3. Wait for confirmation that publishing succeeded.

Only a successful publish makes the current content visible. If you later edit a published plan, use Publish changes to update the family-visible version.

Archive and reuse older plans

Archive current preserves the current plan in read-only history and starts a clean new draft. Save or publish any unsaved changes first; archiving is unavailable while the editor is dirty.

In Plan history, you can:

  • View an archived plan;
  • restore it by copying its contents into the current draft; or
  • Remove it permanently after confirmation.

Restoring does not change or delete the archived version. It replaces the current working content with a draft and does not publish it automatically.

Removing an archived plan cannot be undone. It does not change the current plan.

Things to know

  • There is one current working plan and there may be several archived plans.
  • Saving and publishing do not create a new history version; archiving does.
  • A family sees only published plans, never drafts or history.
  • Avoid editing the same plan in two tabs. The last saved tab can replace newer content.

If something goes wrong

  • If save or publish fails, your edits remain unsaved in the editor. Correct the problem and retry.
  • If an upload fails, retry it; it will not be attached to the plan.
  • If an image preview or PDF download expires, open it again.
  • If archive is disabled, save or publish your current changes first.
  • If restoring would replace unsaved edits, review the confirmation carefully before continuing.
